The OMC 4 Track: Eminem’s Recovery
In 2009 after a four year absence Eminem finally released a full studio album called Relapse. Relapse was met with a lot of buzz and like all of Em’s previous albums went to number one and earned platinum status. Critics however were not as impressed as many felt that Eminem was just putting out a paycheck. Em responded by releasing additional tracks later in 2009 with “Relapse:Refill”. Shortly thereafter Em went back into rehab for drugs while in recovery for his addictions Em realized something…the critics were right Relapse was not his best work, he felt he could do better. So once out of rehab Eminem went back into the studio and opened his heart and laid down the first track off of Recovery titled Not Afraid. This first single is a letter to his fans and its even quite inspirational on some levels. I have managed to get my hands on the whole album 2 weeks before its release and decided it was worthy of an OMC 4 track preview. Without a doubt Eminem is one of the greatest rappers in the history of that genre. I hope you enjoy this sample enough to purchase the album when it drops on June 22 in the USA, June 21 in the UK and June 18 in the rest of Europe.

Hey just an FYI Em never went to rehab between Relapse and Recovery, despite the titles hinting at it.
At the time Relapse was released, Em had enough content for two albums, planning to release Relapse 2 in the 2nd half of the year. This was pushed back by the studio to 2010 – at which time Eminem had recorded extra content which shifted the focus of the album in a new direction as noted in interviews, excerpts of which can be read on Wikipedia.
Em then tweeted “There is no relapse 2” – fans soon thought he was not producing a 2nd CD – Eminem tweeted “Recovery” shortly after.
Peace
Ryan
Thanks for that correction, after some more research I did find out despite rumors there is no official report of Em entering rehab in 2009 (despite rampant rumors and even a few tracks on the new Recovery CD referring to it)
