Giant Toasted Ants for that Nutty Bacon Like Taste

Thought to be an aphrodisiac these giant leafcutter ants, toasted for your convenience have an apparently “nutty bacon like taste” and get this, are therefore quite a common wedding gift (it might even make getting married worth it?).

Even though they are high in protein and low in saturated fat I’m not sure they will be replacing the bacon in my breakfast burritos anytime soon. These little suckers are commonly called “hormigas culonas.” That roughly translates into “big ass ants” (so named for the size of their abdomen) and are available from our friends over at Think Geek for $19.99, I’m calling dibbs if these are ever our Manly Product of the Month.
