Restoring The Glastron Carlson CVX20 – CV21 And The Hunt For Brochures

As you know, Official Man Card has been busy restoring some classic Glastron Carlson boats over the past few years. We started with a 1977 Glastron Carlson CVX 20 with a 460 cubic inch Ford engine and a Berkeley Jet drive.

Then we moved on to a 1971 Glastron Carlson CV 21 with a 455 cubic inch Oldsmobile engine and a Berkeley Jet drive(one of the rarest Glastron Carlsons). In 1971, the Glastron Carlson CV 21 was considered the Corvette of the boating world. The CV 21 was only produced from 1971 to 1975.

We have been given the opportunity to purchase and restore one of the most elusive Glastron Carlson boats: The CV 21 with the built-in swim platform, which was only available in the 1975 model year. If we move forward, we will keep you posted and put up some pictures when we get them.

In my restoration efforts, I came across a company called Old Boat Brochures. The company owner’s father started collecting brochures in the 1940s, and today Doug Dawson and his wife, Brenda, run a website where they scan these rare brochures and provide them to their customers online as a PDF. This was a fantastic find for me as I’m always looking for anything related to Glastron Carlson, and lucky for me a few of Doug’s 14,000 boat brochures are Glastron Carlson related.

If you’re looking for some awesome, vintage brochures, don’t hesitate to check out their website, OldBoatBrochures.com. They have helped so much, and now we can share some with our members.
