The OMC 6 Track: Cee-Lo Green
I know its normally a 4 track but when you are as big as the voice behind Gnarls Barkley and a former member of hip hop’s Goodie Mob, you get the extra two tracks. Born Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, Cee-Lo Green is larger than life with a voice that make you pay attention like ground coffee, smooths you out with a touch of chocolate and a sex appeal not seen since Barry White.
Cee Lo Green’s music career started in the Goodie Mob, but left the group in 2000 to pursue a solo musical career, exploring other areas of music besides traditional Rap and Hip Hop. His collaboration project with DJ Danger Mouse, called Gnarls Barkley, this collaboration is probably where he gained the most attention and rightfully so with songs like “Crazy”. While there are elements of R and B and Rap, the majority of the following music accentuates Cee Lo’s talents as a singer, not as a Rapper – and for good reason. The Man has a Voice.
