Ukulele Hero: Jake Shimabukuro

When we think of the ukulele…well lets be honest we really don’t think of the ukulele too often… images of beaches and Hawaii may come to mind. We don’t imagine becoming a ukulele prodigy, getting all the chicks, and being signed to a huge record deal. Generally, that position of awesomeness has been reserved for guitar and legends like Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and Eric Clapton who have inspired thousands to take up the ax. Even Jaco Pastorius and Victor Wooten inspired me to take up the bass. The humble little ukulele, a small hatchet to the guitar’s ax, may actually have just made some head way into the realm of incredible. Meet Jake Shimaukuro, a ukulele master, playing George Harrison’s While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

All that there is left to say is…Bass Guitar for sale, willing to trade for Ukulele.

This is definitely awe inspiring even though it IS a ukulele. I have recently become a guitar student (i thought I was suppose to inherently know how to play, BUT was WRONG), this has motivated me to new levels.
